Research shows that the three top reasons for remaining in abusive relationships have to do with reliance on the abuser, various kinds of pressures and conflicting emotions. The combination of these three factors work together to leave the victim feeling a sense of helpless and feeling as if they lack options. This is not true and must be vocalized by those close to the victim.
